Care group... =)

~~ Care group ~~

You have your own life,
I have my own.
We studying different courses,
Doing different specialisations.
You don’t know me,
I don’t know you.
As sad as it is,
We don’t care.

A message comes,
Asking how you are,
Too busy to reply,
Too tired to answer,
Or simply just bo chap.
Then we put down the phone,
And complain that we’re lonely,
Life is not good,
But no one cares.

How are others doing in their courses?
It never crossed my mind to drop them a little msg.
To ask them how was their day?
Because I’m more bothered with how was mine,
As sad as it is,
I don’t care.

We come together on weekends,
To Praise and Worship a common God.
You say “hi” to me,
I say “hello” to you,
We settle unto our seats,
But I still don’t know you.

Come Meridian,
You look at your group,
I look at my food,
You have nothing to say to your group,
But I have grace to say for my food.

I look at the food,
It’s steaming hot,
One minute I wait,
Two minutes, I wait,
Three minutes the steam no more.
My stomach growls,
The food cold.
Be logical I learnt,
I decide not to wait.
Hot food, hungry stomach,
Must satisfy,
My care group members never mind.

Come Care group,
The same faces appear,
Nothing exciting,
Nothing New,
The weather is hot,
But the hearts are cold.
You say “hi” to me,
I say “hello” to you,
But I still don’t know you.

What is the care group strength?
What is our vision?
Where are we heading?
What is our role in it?
Not my problem I say,
Because I just follow.

Praise and worship,
Holy com,
Testimony &
Teaching,
We say Amen, Amen,
& Amen.
It is our thousandth Amen as a group.

We make a covenant,
We cast a vision,
We set a direction.
We say Amen, Amen,
& Amen.
It is our thousandth Amen as a group.

A breeze passes,
Care group ends,
Everyone goes on different ways,
You go yours,
I go mine,
And we say Goodbye with a smile.

this is a poem on care group that i came across in Jie Hui's blog (a fellow brother-in-Christ), which i find it rather interesting.. so i decided to change some of the words to be more applicable to a campus ministry setting..

how sad it is to be in a group describe in the poem.. esp when it is a care group, which is suppose to be a family.. a place that we find support and encouragement through sharing our walks with God...

so what is the idea of a family for you?

for me.. i just want a family that i can find support and encouragement from.. and i will also want to contribute back out of the overflow of God's love within me.. being able to cheer each other on and learn from one another in our journey with God..

God's idea of a family?

"1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being in one spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than ourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."

- Philippians 2:1-4-

" They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

- Acts 2:42-

that is why meeting of the care group is named 242 is because the verse mentioned above.. the kind of care group we hope to achieve in our lifetime is well describe in the verses in Acts 2:42-27..

do take some time to ponder and reflect..

A care group united in spirit by One Spirit..

Love,

Naomi
