Quotes worth pondering...

"Our life is the make up of the sum of our decisions."

~unknown~

"Personhood is formed through making decisions."

and

"God's purpose in guidance is not to get us to perform the right actions
but to help us become the right kind of people."

~John Ortberg~

"45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks." - Luke 6:45
~Jesus~

so what is my conclusion? we need to take responsibility in making decisions cos God is not going to make for us.. His guidance is only there to help us know which direction He is leading us to as we choose to surrender our lives to Him.. if we stay close to God, we will able to know His heart and what He wants for us.. then we will be able to make the decision that is best for ourselves..

then what is your conclusion?

Be close to God and do the right thing..

choice...

no matter the circumstances

no matter what emotions are involve

we are responsible for the decisions that we make at the very moment

so let's take a pause before we do something we regret later

between stimuli and response

there's a choice

so let's take our time to make that choice

as usually it is impulse that cost

be wise with your choice...

5 stages of grief...

5 stages of grief

1) Denial

"I'm fine.", "This is not happening, at least not to me."

2) Anger

"Why does this has to happen to me?"

3) Bargaining

"I will give my best for God if..."

4) Depression

"Nothing can be done, just let it be then."

5) Acceptance

" I am sure everything is going to be alright eventually."

sometimes these 5 stages don't just apply to grief.. they can be applied when we don't get what we want or when suffering happens.. no matter which stage you are at now, i hope you can move to the last stage eventually and not stay stagnant in one stage forever..

be on the look out...

a quote...

God is too wise to be mistaken,

too good to be unkind.

When you can't trace the hand of God,

trust in the heart of God.

daily scenario...

Jesus comes to your house wanting to fellowship with you
He press the bell, waiting for you to open the door

(Inside the house)
there are many things distracting you
1) your work that has to be done
2) your mum nagging at you to clean up your room
3) your favourite tv programme is on
4) there is lots of mails that you need to clear
and the list goes on

Yet, you know that Jesus is right outside your door waiting
even though He does not press the bell again
cos He does not want to stress you

He is waiting for you to make the decision to open the door
you know that you need Him
He does not leave cos He knows you need Him

all you need to do is to open the door to let Him in
everything else will be done and will get done

sometimes we win this struggle
sometimes we give in

so what is your decision today?

Jesus is just right outside your door..

numbers...

when i was reading through the book of Numbers previously, i was like thinking why does God has to ask Moses to record all that down to be included in the bible? in fact, i find it a book that is quite hard to finish reading.. however, recently during one of the sermon when Pastor Jeff said that God takes note of anyone who give his/her best for God's Kingdom.. it struck me hard.. that is precisely the reason why so many names were mentoned in the book of Numbers or even throughout the whole bible.. God have taken note of His chosen people and people who had contributed to His Kingdom.. i was like woah, God really loves us very much to remember everything and anything that we have done..

i would be so amazed to see a book in the history that has my name in it cos God has taken note of me.. feel so honoured.. :)

Thank You, God, for honouring me by remembering me...

a nice song to share..

just a refresher...

经一事,长一智it's always a learning experience with each mistake made

something we always forget that there is always something to learn from the mistakes (big or small) that we made each moment.. cos we might be too absorbed with the mistakes or failures in life.. let's really squeeze out every ounce of learning we can get from each experience we have or is going through..

Jia you!!

spill over...

many people tend to compartmentalise their lives.. work, family, play, church and friends, all seems as if they have no relation to one another in their lives.. yet, we forget that how we see or do things in one aspect of our lives will spill over to the other areas of our lives.. believer or non-believer also the same, just that it is greatly magnified in a Christian's life..

examples:
a) if you have the tendency to rush your work only last minute, then usually when you handle the struggles, you will have a tendency to only learn when the repercussions are rather great and staring right in front of you..
b) if you like to plan ahead of what you want to do or have in life, you will usually become very impatient when things don't go according to your plan and might even think that God is trying to be funny with you..
c) if you are those kind of people who like to take care of things that you shouldn't be doing, then you will end up doing too much and be burnt out.. on the other hand, those who are suppose to be taking initiative would not take ownership as they see that there is someone taking care of the things already..

the above are just some examples, there are still many other examples.. look carefully at the way you handle the things in your live in the different aspects, you will be able to see the trend and the repercussions of it.. that is why the bible always say we need to look at life as a whole and Christ has to be at the center of it.. we might not be able to change on our own but with Christ in us, we can tap on His power to change..

change is hard.. cultivating a good habit takes time.. but you need to start somewhere and put in effort then can you be able to see the fruits in your life..

"15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers."

~1Timothy4:15-16~

"6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

~Philippians 1:6~

Watch out, be diligent and persevere..
