hurted people hurt people..

we all have the tendency to hurt back the people that hurt us.. or even worse, we hurt the others after being hurt.. to us that is something we naturally know how to do.. we even have the tendency to justify or rationalise our actions.. however, we forget that the relief or even joy that we get from getting back at the other person is not lasting.. and the worse is we might feel even more empty thereafter..

so what is the right way?

we need to understand why we feel hurt by what the other person do or say.. cos what that person do or say can't hurt us unless we allow it to.. or because of wounds that we are not willing to face.. it has something to do with us and not the other person..

the right attitude to have?

grace and mercy is what we should give to the person.. whether the person wrongs us, hurts us intentionally, persecute us, etc.. cos God gives us His grace and mercy when we don't deserve it.. frankly, none of us deserve anything from anyone, not even God.. we are just trying to justify our actions.. so we really need to be truthful to ourselves..

"38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well."

~Matthew 5:38-40~

"28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. 30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back."

~Luke 6:28-30~

"13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

~Colossians 3:13~

Show grace to everyone..

Love,
Naomi
